Should we throw away all our current furniture?
Absolutely not. A house gains character precisely by combining personal items and heirlooms with new design. I critically examine what you already have: what's precious and what fits into the new plan? We integrate your favorite pieces so it truly feels like your home, not a showroom.
My partner and I have completely different tastes. Is that okay?
This is one of the most common reasons people hire me. You can't reach an agreement together, and that's why nothing happens. I act as a guide and objective third party. I find the common thread in your desires and weave them together into a harmonious whole that you both recognize.
How does the pricing structure work? Will I encounter any unexpected costs?
I value clarity, just like you. That's why I work with fixed packages per room and clearly defined phases. You know exactly what the design will cost upfront. No vague hourly billing structures, but a transparent investment in a plan you'll enjoy for years to come.
Do you also help with purchasing and practical implementation?
Yes. This is especially ideal for expats or people with demanding jobs. Besides designing, I provide shopping lists and can manage contact with suppliers and sample orders. I'll point you in the right direction in the Netherlands, so you don't waste valuable time searching and arranging things.

I initially engaged Tessa to help me with my kitchen and bathroom renovations. Both were quite small spaces where the space wasn't used effectively. But because I was so impressed with her designs and ideas, she extended her expertise to the rest of my house. She truly listened to and considered my taste and what I considered important, but especially what I wanted my home to represent.
Tessa then created a design that not only met all my wishes but also significantly improved them. Everything was carefully considered, with practical and aesthetic aspects seamlessly blending. This was then carried out professionally, warmly, and with great skill. The end result exceeded all expectations, and my apartment has also significantly increased in value. I thoroughly enjoy the result every day and wish everyone could experience it!

I designed both the kitchen and living room floors of Robin and Lydia's restored canal house. Their wish: a calm, mature interior that complements their busy lives and the house's history.
We opted for a light, airy base that enhances the natural light and maximizes the stunning canal views. High-quality materials, subtle details, and a clear layout bring a sense of calm and unity to both floors.
A special element is the small library we added: an intimate place to read, work and escape from the Amsterdam rhythm for a while.
